There are several mini water falls within just walking distance and the whole place was surrounded by tea plantations and mountains with so much greenery. The views were breathtaking and a lot to enjoy. The staff were really good, and concerned about the comfortability of customers. Great service. "I had a wonderful experience at Knuckles Retreat in Sri Lanka. The location is truly breathtaking, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Knuckles Mountain Range. "Easily the top experience I have so far traveling around Sri Lanka. Room - 7 out of 5. Super clean, very spacious. Washroom with hot water. Big table to work, small area for dining if needed. Common area - 7 out of 5 again, unbelievable scenery with tea plantations and mountains. Location - 10 out of 5. You will regret not staying there atleast 3 nights. The place is literally surrounded by tea plantations and mountains. Super cozy 360 view. 40 mins walk away to 5 peak entry point. 5-10 mins walk to a beautiful waterfall. Can take a dip and walk back your room in no time. Food - 7 out of 5, I had Sri Lankan style meals, I probably had 25% more than my usual portion each time. Customer service and people - 15 out of 5. Genuine sweethearts, made me feel better than home. Rare to come across such genuinely nice people in the hospitality industry. Few things, which can be improved but it’s not in their control. Mobile signal available for basic calls, internet is useable in selected places within the property. Rocky road to the destination, but vehicles can be parked 1km away. Nevertheless I would rate this place more than 5 genuinely. Rating them 5 stars does not do justice to the experience I had. Thank you Knuckles retreat team for the life long experience. Hope to visit again soon!"
"'Knuckles Retreat', a memorable experience amidst the mountains. We were lucky enough to get 2 rooms at the last minute during the New Year holidays. Weather was fantastic, sceneries were breathtaking, and most of all, the food was scrumptious. Their hospitality was so welcoming that we felt it like home away from home. This is an ideal place for both relaxing and sightseeing while you are on holiday. There is so much more to explore around the area. So, we are waiting to go there again and catch up the missed fun very soon...."
"The knuckles retreat is located in secluded amazing area, within a 30-40 minute walk you will reach the 5 knuckles trailhead. So it’s in a very good location if you want to some hiking. My friend and I stayed for one night and we had an amazing stay. The owner is very friendly and tries everything to make you feel comfortable! You can reach this place from Kandy by bus and book it over WhatsApp. She will help you out how to reach it. Thank you for everything again!"
"We had an amazing stay at the Knuckles retreat when we stayed for one night as a group of 27 guests. We trailed the second highest peak of knuckles range and the entrance to knuckles is just 2km from the property. They have plenty of waterfalls around and are so refreshing. The host is super friendly and accommodated requests even at the last minute. The place is relatively a new addition to knuckles and is well maintained. We wished that we could have stayed longer at the retreat."
